In this case, we worked with the developer of the building to create a model suite for him to show to prospective buyers. This was a 2,200-square-foot condo with two bedrooms and three bathrooms on Union Square in Manhattan. The building site was in the old Tiffany building. The adjacent building had been demolished and a new one was built and added to it. The architect was very clever, adding a gorgeous cobalt blue, translucent sheet of glass to envelop the two buildings into one.
The developer let us design it however we wanted, as long as it was hip, fun, and had a magical vibe. We interlaced a lot of color with the modern architecture, even installing multicolored LED lights into the high wall panel in the kitchen. They reflected off the windows at night and gave the main living space a really chic and modern energy.
We custom-designed and built most of the furniture pieces with a combination of leather, iron, glass, and wood. In the main room, we used a leather sofa, a caned rocking chaise from Brazil, a smoke-colored mirror iron coffee table, solid oak bookcases against vibrant yellow panels, and a gorgeous plush shag area carpet.
The duration of the project was approximately nine months. The suite sold immediately. So, we were asked to design two more for the developer, and they sold right away too. Being a Top rated Manhattan Interior Designer with only 5-star reviews has its perks!
