Upper East Side Pied-à-Terre

Upper East Side Pied-à-Terre

A complete renovation of a one-bedroom, one-bathroom condominium on the Upper East Side of Manhattan with a lovely view of the Empire State Building from its terrace‍.

We did a complete renovation as it was outdated, last done in the 1980s, everything was very geometric, with a lot of wallpaper, glass, and chrome.

We were under a tight deadline of three months because the client’s niece would be graduating from law school then and this condo was his present to her. To speed things along, he left everything up to Kelly Weldon Design, happy with what he had seen in my portfolio. Being a top-rated Interior Designer in Manhattan has its perks!

The space was only eight hundred square feet, and we didn’t need to change the placement of the kitchen or bathroom. We installed a new bathroom, all new plumbing fixtures and had to adjust the risers slightly, new floors, and new lighting. But my personal favorite was the new kitchen. It was a little pass-through, very dark and closed in, so we opened it up by blowing out three-quarters of wall out and put in new cabinets and appliances. The stove was particularly gorgeous, with brass knobs with a stainless steel base.

We met our deadline, and the client and his niece were thrilled.
